Refund policy
YumBaby – Refunds, Returns & Complaints Policy
At YumBaby, we take pride in providing quality products and a positive customer experience. We understand that issues may occasionally arise, and we will always endeavour to resolve legitimate concerns fairly and reasonably.
This policy applies to purchases made through the YumBaby website and is subject to the rights afforded to consumers under applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
1. Change-of-Mind Returns
YumBaby does not offer refunds or exchanges simply because a customer has changed their mind, ordered the incorrect item, no longer requires the product, or has decided that the product is not suitable for their personal preferences, unless otherwise required by law.
Customers are encouraged to carefully review product descriptions, sizes, quantities, colours and other product information before placing an order.
Where YumBaby agrees, at its discretion, to accept a change-of-mind return, the product must be:
• Unused and in its original condition;
• In its original, undamaged packaging where applicable;
• Returned within the period agreed with YumBaby; and
• Accompanied by proof of purchase.
Any costs associated with returning a product in these circumstances may be the responsibility of the customer.
2. Incorrect or Damaged Products
If you receive a product that is incorrect, damaged, or materially different from the product ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
Please provide:
• Your order number;
• A description of the issue; and
• Clear photographs of the product and packaging where relevant.
YumBaby will assess the complaint and, where the complaint is found to be valid, may arrange for the product to be replaced, repaired or refunded, as applicable.
Where an incorrect or damaged product is confirmed to be the responsibility of YumBaby, reasonable return or replacement arrangements will be made at no additional cost to the customer.
3. Defective Products
If a product is believed to be defective, please contact YumBaby with details of the problem and, where reasonably possible, photographs or other information that may assist us in assessing the issue.
We may request that the product be returned or made available for inspection before a refund, replacement or other remedy is provided.
Where a product is confirmed to be defective, YumBaby will provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable South African consumer legislation.
Please note that normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, improper use, neglect, or damage caused after delivery will not be considered a product defect.
4. Complaints
We encourage customers to contact us directly if they experience a genuine problem with an order or product.
Complaints must include sufficient information for YumBaby to investigate the matter, including the order number and a clear description of the complaint.
We will acknowledge and assess complaints within a reasonable period and may request additional information, photographs or other evidence where necessary.
YumBaby reserves the right to investigate the circumstances of a complaint before agreeing to a refund, replacement or other remedy.
A refund or replacement will not automatically be provided solely on the basis of a complaint where the product has been supplied correctly and is not defective, damaged or otherwise subject to a remedy under applicable law.
5. Refunds
Where a refund has been approved, the refund will normally be processed using the original payment method.
Refunds will be processed within a reasonable period after approval and, where applicable, after the relevant product has been returned and inspected.
The amount refunded will correspond to the amount properly refundable in respect of the relevant purchase, subject to applicable law.
YumBaby may offer a replacement or other appropriate remedy instead of a refund where permitted by law.
6. Delivery Issues
If an order does not arrive within the expected delivery period, please contact YumBaby so that we can investigate the matter with the relevant delivery provider.
Once an order has been handed to the appointed delivery service, delivery times may be affected by circumstances outside YumBaby's reasonable control.
YumBaby will nevertheless make reasonable efforts to assist customers in resolving delivery-related issues.
7. Exclusions
YumBaby will not be responsible for complaints arising from:
• Incorrect information supplied by the customer when placing an order;
• Incorrect product selection by the customer;
• Damage caused by misuse, negligence, improper handling or failure to follow product instructions;
• Normal wear and tear;
• Products altered or modified after purchase; or
• Circumstances outside YumBaby's reasonable control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
8. Proof of Purchase
A valid order confirmation, invoice or other reasonable proof of purchase may be required before a return, replacement or refund can be processed.

10. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any rights that a consumer may have under applicable South African law.
Where a provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory provision of applicable law, the applicable law will prevail.
YumBaby reserves the right to update this policy from time to time. The policy applicable to an order will be the policy in effect at the time the order is placed.
